I remember being told last year how well things were going in India...and everywhere else, compared to the U.S. Turns out that media coverage moves faster than the virus, but the virus will eventually do what it does.

Anyone hear any media coverage lately about how well the U.S. is doing in, essentially, all metrics (vaccinations, spread, death) compared to other large countries? Me neither.
Actually, I've heard several reports within the last week that the US is far ahead of Europe as far as vaccinated percentage goes. I believe most EU countries are at 20% or less. The last two weeks they have dropped the surge angle from most stories, except for Brazil and India.

They are still wanting to use India to stoke fear (Indian variant is more transmissible like the Brazilian, UK and South African) and socialism. Rich countries are buying all the vaccines and poor countries can't afford them and evil pharmaceutical companies won't waive their patent rights and people are suffering and dying and there's not enough oxygen to go around and the Indian government is being mean to its people and...:blahblah:.

Surely you have sympathy for the fact that people are dying, right?

Yes, I do. I figured someone might call me out on that. I shall virtue signal to the world that I am not cold and heartless and evil and deserving of being cancelled.

Stories for sympathies are fine, but what realistically am I to do to help? Stories for sympathy are too much played in the media anymore.

Just getting a little tired of the media guilt every time I turn around.

Sucks to be them no doubt.

Grateful to The Lord beyond words for the blessings I have received.

    Grateful for America.

    Grateful to be American.

Call me heartless, but I have no problem if the rich countries, that develop and produce the vaccines, are the ones that get the lion's share of them.

The EU mismanaged the vaccine acquisition early on, and then made a hasty halt to distribution when some deaths occurred. - that's their own fault.

It doesn't help that politicians are f****** with the death numbers for political reasons.
It doesn't help that politicians are forcing contagious sick people in with the most vulnerable.
It doesn't help that politicians are letting illegal aliens with COVID to stream into my country.
It doesn't help that politicians are playing silly games with lockdowns and mandates.
It doesn't help that politicians are denying the use of some good treatment medications for political reasons.
It doesn't help that dumocraps are trying to destroy the freedom and liberty of my country.

Sure I care about people in India dying but I admit I care more about Americans dying because of a**hole politicians. We have enough problems right here in front of us without looking for more on the other side of the planet.

I've been hesitant to post an update because it's gross, but the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine jacked my stomach up real bad. About 24 hours in I started getting very tired and had a slight fever and chills. About 36 hours after getting the shot I got a case of severe gastrointestinal distress that ran steady for about 12 hours straight. I'll leave it at that.

Things have improved a little over the last 24 hours, but my stomach is still doing flip flops and sounds like a severe thunderstorm. The nausea, bloating and gas buildup is pretty bad still.

It has not been a fun four days.

WOW! I have not heard of that type of response.

Might as well get a colonoscopy now, you've done the hard part.

I was in no big hurry to get the vaccine, rushing about and scrambling to get an online appointment and waiting in long lines...not my bag, man. To use an anachronism.

But finally things calmed down and enough dosages avail that I could take leisurely car ride thru the injection site.

I got the first shot of the Moderna two-step on 22 April. My reaction to it was as close to nil as I think you can get. Slight, tiny bit of almost soreness at injection site. That was it. Gotta do round 2 on 20 May. Some claim claim second shot produces more reactions. We shall see.

Don't know if this is true but I have heard that the more severe response is an indication the your immune system is building a strong resistance to the virus.
