Someone at work went through the "it's for everyone's good, it's perfectly safe, why are you questioning things" routine.

    Get it.
    Or don't get it.
    I don't care.
    Just stop forcing people.

Of course, then there was the "well, because not enough people did it to hit herd immunity"..
You mean the number that keeps changing?
You mean the number not set in concrete?

    Crap.

That moment you're at home, pants off, on INGO, and realize you need to go to the store to get something for work tomorrow.
I'll be in an 8 hour long "safety blitz", which is a once a year class everyone has to take.
And I won't be in my shop where my dishes are, utensils, refrigerator, microwave, and such.

I think they have a microwave at the class.
    I need to get something.
Guess the pants must go back on.

I thought you didn't have to unless it was FDA approved. The current ones are not.
That’s what I don’t understand - how it can be required without full FDA approval, and how employers can require it with just the EUA.

    Exactly, it shouldn’t be forced.

    back from the store.

I really don't want to go the the safety class tomorrow.
Then again, I don't want to go to the mill either.
So I guess the class is less dangerous.

I’m sick and old(ish) so I was happy to get it.

My daughter (26yo) is also high risk, she was happy to get it.

My 19yo healthy Russian fencer who stays with us when she is not attending Notre Dame got her 2nd shot yesterday; she travels a lot and the vaccine gives her travel access to many countries that restrict unvaccinated people.

That all said, there are NOT a lot of reasons why healthy low risk people under the age of 50 need to get the vaccine.

International travelers are going to pretty much need the vaccine.

High risk people of all ages probably should get the shots; being overweight is the #1 risk factor. More weight = high risk. Blood pressure, asthma, cancer, heart disease, immunosuppressed & diabetics are also on the list. If you are not chubby or have another risk factor, and are under 50, probably not a serious risk for complications.

    FWIW
many universities are now requiring the students be vaccinated before attending classes fall of 2021.
Yeah I've got big reservations about it, but same reasons I got it. Partner has asthma and had cancer, couple people who I'd like to see a fair bit before they pass are 75+ and have serious health conditions. And yeah, I know, asymptomatic carrying but I figure the chip dies decrease the possibility I infect some folks I care about.

I don't give a rats etc if anyone else gets it tho, and could care less if other people mask or not.

I am one of those who got the VAX but is pretty much anti-mask and I don't care if others do or don't get the VAX. I figure it is a personal choice and/or a family choice.

Pretty clear that the vaccines actually work. At least the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Quick look at some of the universities that have vaccinated 80-90% of their students (and several have done that) and they have seen their covid infections drop to statistical zero. Pretty clear they are safe, at least in the short term. Nobody know if we vaccinated people will grow new limbs or die of some new ailment, but based on history it's probably only something like 1 in a million that will see their penis fall off from a vaccine.

Masks only work if they are good, clean masks. N95 and better masks actually work, if properly fitted. They have a lifespan of roughly 40 hours. Surgical masks may offer a small amount of protection to the user, if clean and dry and well fitted, they have a lifespan of maybe 8 hours. Cotton masks, either 2 or 3 layer, are basically just costumes for show. Science proves all that. Almost nobody has N95 masks, so taken as a whole across society, given that most people's masks are unsanitary, it is very reasonable to say that masks do not work.

Do what you got to do for you. That is my take.

Not sure if that'll happen... Ol' Nancy Pelosi was being interviewed a few days ago and the reporter asked something along the lines of "When are you requiring other people of the house to get vaccinated?" Her reply was pretty much, "I can't"...

I'm pretty sure anyone asking for your medical records in regards to a vaccine would be breaching HIPAA...
All the vaccines out right now are in FDA CLINICAL TRIAL phase. Everyone getting a vaccine *IS/ARE* the test subjects.

So with none of them past the clinical trial they are NOT FDA certified so in short none are "legal" per say in terms of being a requirement for xyz.

That being said if one does the research their are ways around all of this just like their are ways to go to public school without any medical shots by having the proper written exemptions.

Then there are the non jedi ways, the dark side ways, of showing yur papers even thought they are not "your" papers per say.

:coffee: Working from home. It's especially good because the wife and kid had a brownie making failure in the microwave with the excess batter. I came in the house and the windows were open and fans were on.

So, today, I will be airing our the house.

Yes, there are ways around it. All I’ve found are legitimately held religious beliefs and medical reasons which all have to be provable/documented.
