For those not familiar, The Highlands in Louisville used to be a nice area, but in the last couple of decades has become a haven for daisy sniffing socialists. Must of Louisville's social unrest starts there. Its a safe place for BLM/Antifa types where they know Mayor Fischer won't bother to enforce laws. Sadly, there are a lot of very nice restaurants and bars there that are hurt by this crap.

Alright I had one of those NAA black widow 22 mag. Carried that thing everywhere. It goes in gym shorts with no problem. Knock it all you want but 22 mag even out of a short barrel will end someone’s day.

I have no doubt it'll end someone.

My concern is whether I'll still be alive by the time they bleed out.

I’m afraid we’re in for a lot more shootings and in places where you don’t normally hear about them. Heck 1 dead and 5 wounded isn’t even note worthy in Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore or LA anymore, but when you start seeing numbers rising in cities that normally don’t make the news people begin to worry. The media and current administration are going to ram this down our throats until they get everyone thinking that we really do need more gun laws and people don’t really need the 30 round clipazine killing machines that are sold to anyone with cash using the gunshow loophole at the weekly gun bizarre at a town near you. I could go on and expand upon the idea of how the number of shootings and their publicity always seem to go up near elections and anytime their is a big gun control bill in the works but it’s been beaten to death. Plus I’m not the most articulate guy on this forum anyway. I could talk about how it’s not the tool but it’s user that should be the ones banned and punished for their crimes and not the law abiding citizens, but that’s riding the same dead horse.
I was just reading on another thread about when and where a person is allowed to defend themselves on their own property and not worry about prosecution. It seems to me that if someone comes onto your property with intent of doing something illegal you should be able to defend said property without fear of the repercussions, be it your bedroom, kitchen, garage, barn, pole barn or outhouse. They are on your property uninvited and wanting to do something illegal. The criminal initiates the interaction and should be the one responsible for the consequences.
So this thread is about the Antifa/BLM clowns threatening people just trying to have a nice dinner in peace and how tue guy that pulled a gun to defend himself and others might be the one in trouble and possibly have to defend himself in court and spend time in the Gray bar hotel. The Antifa/BLM clowns initiated the conflict and got off Scott free. Where were the police? Were they not called or had they been given instructions to stand down again? It was Derby Weekend so I would assume that there must’ve been some sort of heightened security and plenty of preparation for such an event happening.
When did things get so scrambled? The honest people have to worry about not only what they are doing but also what those wanting to do harm are doing as well. We must follow the rules not only for ourselves but also for those that want to do us harm. The criminals and scum get treated with kid gloves by police and the courts for fear of violating their rights and the repercussions involved more so than protecting the rights of their victims.
Hell, people are even afraid to speak their minds anymore because every word is analyzed, processed and scrutinized to see if it is racist, sexist, homophobic or politically correct. The cancel culture is out in full force.
Orwell was off by about 30 years. Well I certainly got off topic on this one. It’s 5am and my mind is just running on its own like it usually does at this time of day. Maybe some of you will understand my ramblings and confusion. Sorry if I wasted your time with this .....
It may be an 05:00 stream of consciousness moment but that doesn’t change the fact that you're right.

In my reckoning it isn't ideal but is vastly better than rude gestures and harsh language.

And as I recall, Protesting in KY has two key restrictions that these clowns are ignoring.

    No masks
    No guns

Cant have either when protesting in KY the last time I looked. And I can see the DA overlooking the mask due to covid, but the one guy in crappy body armor and a glock on his right hip is DEFINITELY running afoul of the law. Why isnt Tactical Timmy Wannabe in jail?

Look up the ballistics of 22WMR. Energy wise its damn close to a .380 as I recall. I remember seeing that fact and thinking to myself "well, except for the relative unreliability of rimfires, Maybe a LCR in WMR isnt so bad after all... at least if it doesnt go boom (as rimfires oft do) just keep pulling the trigger till it goes boom again." :dunno:

Would it be my first choice? Nope. Would I turn it down if the SHTF and somebody wanted to hand me one because thats all there was? Nope!

They arrested three of the protesters.

    From a rifle, sure.

From a 2" barrel or less, lol no. Likewise with 22lr. It can do wonders from a decent length barrel, but from these tiny guns the ballistics are getting very sketchy.

22 WMR from a 2" barrel is only pushing a 40gr bullet around 800fps. Which is the exact same thing a 22lr can do from a 2" barrel.

POS governor subjugating people with all the corona crap, armed mobs attacking outdoor diners and shooting cops, wiener mayors refusing to prosecute criminals, Kentucky really seems to be landsliding to hell lately.

    It's the whole country.

The majority of the country would rather commit suicide than be viewed as racist, for opposing the BLM narrative.

    I think I'd rather rely on a 6" knife over a 22 NAA.
I carried a .22 mag NAA everyday in my pocket for over 2 years and eventually came to the realization that a decent knife would be much more useful in 90% of situations. I am however physically capable and have trained with knives in full contact sparring situations, so i do understand those who may not be able to rely on a knife for SD.

I do still carry the revolver when backpacking/hiking but it’s primarily for snakes or aggressive dogs.
