I, too, want to know what has become of the truck. Will we see it at an event this year?
No. It’s not going to be an event machine. It’s going to be a cruiser. I got it running. Poorly. Ordered a new filler hose because the old one doesn’t work as a hose but is a really good screen. As soon as I get back from Bowling Green I start working on it again to make it a driver.

    Filled the converter.
    Put it into position.
    Trans is attached/torqued.
    Balanced on the chains.

Now, what in Gods name did I do with the trans mount...:dunno: IMG_4483.jpg

Well I know you're all waiting breathlessly to find out what happens in today's episode of "To Mount an Alternator" so here it is:

    bracket modified.jpg

I heated and bent the clevis eyes to raise the anchor point on the bracket. I'll need to round up a button head bolt in place of the gold colored one as it almost touches the belt. Other than that it's a matter of cutting off and shaping the bracket arm and it should be good to go. The long nipple is on there just as a guide for the routing of the hose to ensure I have the needed clearance. I'll use a shorter nipple to lower the stress on everything.

    On to the next problem.

I will still make a few autox events with the Rio but road racing is becoming my drug of addiction. Grid Life Sundae Cup. Want to go beat up on some Honda fits.
I wish I had your kind of money....
Once I get the drivetrain issue sorted on the Vert and feel comfortable above 80mph in it, I'll be taking it to a road course.

Hey, anyone here familiar with blow-thru carb setups? I'm doing a Roadkill style build on the Notch this year. "Don't get it right, just get it running." Realized that it's been sitting in my driveway, nothing done to it, for nearly 2 years now. I don't like that. So gonna do a quick/dirty rebuild on the 351, throw on a carb intake and one of the 650 carbs in my garage, and make it run. Planning on running a modified automatic transmission out of a 98ish V6 Mustang with a manual VB and a shifter. Once I get it running, I want to throw the turbo on and have a little fun and learn with the carburetor.
Trying to find someone local that knows more on how a blow-thru works. I found some good DIY write-ups and I'm confident I can convert one of the carbs in the garage. More concerned about the tuning side right now.

What carb do you want to use and how much psi are you looking for?

I had a buddy of mine look at it a few months ago and I swear he said it was a 600 or 650. I'm thinking it's an Edelbrock, but I don't know exactly.

Boost? All of it. Basically, whatever makes 450+. Have a diesel turbo off an 05 Cummins. It should make 450 to the tires even through this stock 351. And honestly, if it makes less then it makes less. I'm happy with whatever it can make, so long as it runs well and doesn't try to blow up on me every pass.
