It got past me before I saw the name so I didn't get a picture of it.

I'm sitting on the jetty here in Venice, Florida watching the boats go in and out and the gulls and pelicans fly around looking for fish to eat and I saw this very large yaught go buy and on the back it had the name INDIGO, maybe it's Church mouses yacht, LOL.

Anyway, I'm stranded here in paradice, my tranny developed problems and the shop can't find the problem, it's been that way for 2 months now and I need to get home. I may have to rent a truck and tow dolly to get home if the shop can't find the problem. The problem is that it's locked in limp mode and won't upshift and I can only drive at about 35-40 mph. It's not the tranny itself, it's electrical.
    I feel like I'm on Gilligan's island.
    Heeeeeelp.
Anyway, if I see the yacht again I'll get a picture of it.

Was it called "Second Amendment"? I saw that boat with crossed AR's above the hailing port of Palm Beach.

    It's a 02' Grand Caravan, Sport 3.3 with a 41te - 4 speed transmission.
Those have notorious problems with the TCM, Solenoid pack, and input and output speed sensors. That's all external and not to bad cost wise. They also are notorious for broken snap rings internally.

Do you know what code/s its throwing? Also has anyone looked at the CVIs? (Clutch volume index)

    P0750 and P0700.
It was working fine when I shut it off, next morning it wouldn't shift.

What does a broken snap ring do?

I was looking for Church mouse to say the yaught wasn't his. Yeah, right.

Ok. So if you shut the vehicle off and restart will it shift a few times, and shift good, before going back into limp mode?

If so and you haven't had the solenoid pack replaced, with out personally looking at, I'd venture to say that's your problem

As far as the snap rings go, they hold the clutches and steels from over extension. If one is broke you will generally have the problem all the time and this can be verified by looking at the CVIs. If CVIs are high for a certain clutch pack, it's an indication that a snap ring broke or clutches are worn.

Normal CVI readings would be in the 30s to 50s for all except OD. OD should be in the low 100s

Broken snap rings will let shaft-mounted parts slide out of position up to and including sliding clean off the shaft.

No, after clearing all codes they will reset as soon as you turn the key on without starting the van.

A new solenoid pack was installed.

Two ECM's and two TCM's have been tried.

All concerned wiring has been tested.

Speed sensor test ok, input and output sensors test ok, the shop claims everything test ok, voltage's are within acceptable limits.

Now, one odd thing that concerns me is that I can hear the DING when the check engine light is supposed to come on but the light doesn't come on, in fact I can't get the light to come on at all, even with clearing the codes and turning the key on or even after starting.

This sounds like the bulb is blown. No big deal there.

Sounds like you've tried about everything electrical then. Generally just keying up the vehicle, not starting, and code setting will be electrical.

Wish I could help you more but sounds like most bases have been accounted for and without personally testing not much advice I can give

It's not a bulb, it's a LED and their supposed to last forever.
While I'm not certain, I dont believe they're led from the factory. You can get replacement led bulbs but should take a PC74 bulb and socket combination from the factory

The owners manual says it's a LED.
Ok. A little research shows the bulb for certain lights are led and soldered to the cluster. It's the main backlighting that uses replacement bulbs. I'm seeing in some places about various lights not working and solder for the led in the specific location had broken loose.

Some resolder and other replace the cluster.

Only way to find out is pull the cluster and inspect

Either way it's highly doubtful there's any correlation with your trans issue
