We did that for years at the College then we learned from Terpstras that it is better to do this

Dump out most of the fuel and run it until it stops. there is no fuel to gum up during storage. it also saves you the cost of the Stabil.
The problem is getting the fuel out of snowblower WITHOUT running it. It is not easy to do thus the fuelstablier and running the blower for 10mins with fuel line cut off

    At least it's better then

Go to bed, alarm rings and you feel like you JUST closed your eyes.

Or worse you keep trying to sleep. Ut cant, you look at the clock and do the math in your head "if I sleep right now I still get 6 hrs, 2 mins" of sleep. Toss and turn and 20mins later you are repeating that math problem stressing out that now you only have 5 hrs, xxx mins and the whole f... night you continue working that math problem never getting any good sleep. Sigh

Yes jedi is talking from experience

    Found some stupid to share:

I guess he didn't have anything to make a sign saying " ARREST ME".
He is definitely an idiot. How does that qualify for three felony charges though?

Our legal system is so screwed up

Level 5 Felony Intimidation- where def. draws or uses a deadly weapon

Level 6 Felony Criminal Recklessness committed with a deadly weapon

Level 6 Felony Pointing a Firearm at Another

so we can pay for his public defender, court costs and trial expenses and everything gets pled down to a single misdemeanor, the idiot see's not one day in jail and we see him in the news for his next crime soon with his momma screaming "he dindu nuffin"

He'll plead to a single misdemeanor and that will be that...unless he has much of a history, in which case he'll plead to a felony and that will be that.

Also, what the police "charge" doesn't mean that's what he will ultimately face. Those "charges" are why he was arrested. The prosecutor's office will decide what actual criminal charges will be pursued. Generally speaking, police file any crime that arguably fits the elements and let the prosecutors sort it out.

    [ETA]

Looks like 1 prior MJ possession charge that was dismissed 3 years ago, so probably the misdemeanor.

But, he pointed it at cops. I heard that was much worse than pointing it at a lowly civilian.

On the plus side, I got my furnace up and running this morning.

The blower motor gave up last week. I knew it was coming because every time it started, it labored and a new capacitor didn't fix it. Like an idiot, just hoped it would continue working for a little while longer. That was when it was still in the 20s overnight with highs in the 30s. As I mentioned in one of the Texas outage threads, I have an alternative heat plan so I didn't die. The last few days haven't been an issue at all because of pleasant temps.

After a struggle to determine the proper replacement motor using the model number...cross references for which are not easy to find on the internet, I ordered from a place close to Detroit. 3 days later, they informed me it was out of stock...which disagreed with what their website said.

I then figured out a bit of the system as to how these motors are named and sized and ordered a replacement from Grainger. It arrived yesterday. It is a perfect replacement and only required soldering the plug from the old motor onto the new motor. The wire colors are standardized. Total install time- about 40 minutes.

Fired it up , ran perfect....except I outsmarted myself. The motor is reversible based on how 4 wires are plugged together. It came set up for counter-clockwise and I initially told myself "these are all counter-clockwise"...but then when I was installing the squirrel cage wheel, it had a sticker that said "CWLE"...and without thinking ('cause you can tell from the angle of the blades) I thought- hey, must be clockwise. But I didn't take into account shaft end (SE) versus lead end (LE). Clockwise lead end (CWLE) is the same as counter-clockwise shaft end (CCWSE). If I had checked the old motor's tag...or googled, I would have figured this out. I switched the wires to clockwise (in reality, CWSE). It ran great....but simply spun with no air movement. I took the door off and looked at it spinning and at the blades and immediately realized my mistake. Switched the wires back to CCWSE and we now have central heat (and air) again.

I'm a freakin' renaissance man, though not a particularly sharp one.

Who knows something about Lake County jury duty? I have to go on the 19th. It used to last for six weeks, I think, and you had to be available every Monday to get chosen or not. Is it still that way? Is there any way to get out of it once you get there? I am not at all comfortable leaving my mom home alone all day.

Thank you. Obviously it's been a long time since I've been around someone who had to do it. When I was teaching at Ivy Tech, I did some subbing for fellow math professors who were called, and it was a rough six weeks not knowing from day to day whether they would be in class or not.

So now at best, it's one day, and at worst, average of 2-3 days. I guess I can work that out somehow if I have to.

Just be up front about you being the care giver for your mother. Many times, the lawyers and judge don't want a person on a jury who will be distracted with worry.

While the average case is 2 to 3 days, that is not always the case. Most criminal cases are that and most civil cases are that, but those would be misdemeanors and simple felonies on the criminal side and simple rear enders or other simple car accident cases on the civil side.

Murder trials could be over a week. Also, I do civil trials only and I haven't had a trial under a full week in something like 15+ years. In fact, most of mine run into a second week, sometimes 3 (but I haven't tried a case in well over a year for some reason).

    Just so you know.
