    West Virginia became a state after leaving the state of Virginia not long after Virginia seceded. The people in that area felt that their interests weren't being represented by the state government anymore.

    Summit and Park County would probably declare themselves sovereign at that point. The world's laws don't really apply in the high country and the folks up there know it.
    Indiana Michigan and Kentucky would be one sweet and long State. Best of all worlds
    Wouldn't it be better if the awesome flat part of indiana joined up with the super cool flat part of Illinois and the dirty hillbillies from the southern parts of both states had to somehow make a state and survive on their own? I think that would be the way to go.
