I am curious about how they plan to enforce? I hear rumors that most local law enforcement say they will not participate. Are they going to put you in jail for failing to pay?

All it takes is ONE person who is a disgruntled former co-worker, or neighbor who doesn't like the color you painted your mailbox, or politician who doesn't like the fact that you had a yard-sign for their opponent, to 'turn you in' and then when you are found with a "federal firearms felony violation" you can spend tens of thousands of dollars in court if you want, but a gun is a gun, and if you actually ARE found with one that isn't registered, you just become a felon by violating the national firearms laws, so can't ever have ANY firearm in your home again, even if you manage to evade the mandatory $250,000 fine and mandatory 10 year jail sentence they want to apply.

So it might be better to stop the law aggressively now, versus fantasizing that somehow we can just ignore it later.

Wife and I had a similar discussion.

Her: "Why would you register your gun if that passed? Just dont register it. I dont want to register mine."
me: So are you gonna stop carrying it?
    Her: No!
Me: so you get pulled over and cop sees your gun. Since they all must be registered, he runs the serial. So do you want "Step out of the car you are under arrest for violating federal firearms law." or "Nice gun, Now please slow down next time, ma'am." ?

I know of a person who took the "what The Man doesnt know about wont hurt me" stance and probably now wishes he hadnt. Stuff happens which can accidentally lead to The Man finding out what you didnt want him to know. So I guess if you are a gambler...

Who cares if local law enforcement says they will not participate? Is this tied into the feckless sanctuary cities or militia LARPing somehow?

Criminal laws are enforced by the Department of Justice via the United States Attorney as to each federal district. You will be arrested, prosecuted and then, if convicted, sent to the Bureau of Prisons.

This will be no different than any other federal felony. As this is INGO, why do you ask?

Won't pass I doubt many Democrat's will go along with this. That would put them out of office in areas that are 50/50. Independents may not like it and vote for a Republican to get rid of this very kind of law. What one congress makes law another congress can undo.

Right after william jefferson clinton shoved the 1994 ban through congress, congress found out that people care. While it was thankful his toothless law had a sunset provision, congress went republican for the first time in 40 years. Time to remind our "representatives" that we the people oppose this infringement.

Wonder how that will play in that Indianapolis district? ;)

I’ve been sharing info on this with everyone I can think of. I’ve been responding to and forwarding all of the emails I get from GOA and FPC. I don’t think it’s likely to pass either. I also didn’t think a guy who campaigned like it didn’t matter if he campaigned or not would get erected into office.

I have written to my State Rep. Jeff Ellington and State Senator Shelli Yoder about what they are doing to secure our 2nd Amendment rights here in Indiana. So far I have heard nothing from either elected official.

It's more of an outdated power grab, nothing new. They know that a confiscation plan sounds good to their voter base which keeps them on board. They also know deep down that compliance will be low, if not zero. Same Democrat agenda, different pawns.
