Revere's Riders is proud to announce it's partnership with Ovar'coming Together to fight ovarian cancer. We will be running two events in remembrance of Marty Brown, a Revere's Riders instructor who passed away after a 3+ year battle with ovarian cancer. Half of your ticket cost for each event will be donated to Ovar'coming Together to aid in their support programs for those diagnosed with ovarian cancer as well as support of ovarian cancer research.

The Marty Brown Memorial Invitational rifle match will return for it's 3rd year. To receive an invitation, you must shoot a Marksman score or better on the Revere's Riders Rifle Qualification Test at one of our 2019 events. As before, the Invitational will be held at Camp Atterbury's known distance ranges.

New this year is the Marty Brown Memorial Open event. The Open will include both rifle and pistol instruction over the course of a weekend similar to our existing Whittemore Weekend event. The open is your chance to shoot a score on our Rifle Qualification Test and qualify for an invitation to the Invitational. There are also a couple of Rifle 125 events on our schedule where you can shoot a score to earn your way to the Invitational.

For more information, please see the Revere's Riders Announces Partnership with Ovar'coming Together for 2019 Marty Brown Memorial post on our website.

This event is in remembrance of my wife marty {that's her in my avatar} and a fundraiser for ovarian cancer support. We had an overwhelming response and support interest from companies at the NRA convention so keep an eye on this thread for further information. You will not want to miss this event.

This will be an epic event due to the massive donations that were made to RR for fund raising. To the point that the core event itself can easily be overshadowed. I don't know if the analogy of "icing on the cake" applies here because I wouldn't know whether to call the core event or the "Swag bags, random prize drawings, silent auctions, etc." the icing and which would be the cake.

For the regular shooter perusing INGO looking for fun educational gun events to go to, here is the basic core event:

Overview: This event will consist of both pistol and rifle marksmanship with the story of April 19, 1775 mixed in, highlighting the courage of Samuel Whittemore. We will teach the fundamentals of firearm safety, how to effectively hit your target and drills you can practice on your own.The Marty Brown Memorial Open will be based upon our existing Whittemore Weekend™ event; this is a unique offering combining pistol and rifle training in one weekend. This course is appropriate for a wide breadth of student skill levels and lays a sound foundation for students to shoot groups under time pressure from a variety of practical stances and field positions.
Please review the Pistol 100 and Rifle 125 course descriptions for an overview of topics that will be covered over the weekend.
