For those of you who have been here any time at all, and have read many of my posts, you no doubt realize that I have the greatest uncle that ever lived.
This is strictly my opinion, but I have good reason(s) for feeling so.

O.k. a little over a year ago, my uncle surprised me and my two brothers with the gift of a lifetime.
He gifted us 50 acres of prime wooded bottom land, very close to the Wabash river.
I took the biggest buck I've ever harvested from this new ground this past November.

Well, the uncle appears to be at it again!
He called today to tell me he found ANOTHER 50 acres that he wants to look at.
This 50 is in Tippecanoe county. It is entirely in the flood plane, so no building, but fine for hunting/fishing.
He said this also butts against the Wabash river.

He asked if I would want to go with him to look at the new prospect.
    What do you think?

I can hardly believe he is looking at buying even more ground, and especially since it will be of no use other than for sporting purposes.
Still, I couldn't be more excited!

I'm not holding my breath, but man this would be nice...

I've heard that Tippecanoe Co. has major issues with trespassing, something to keep in mind. We have a piece of ground on the Wabash in Tippecanoe and haven't had too many problems but it might be worth asking around a bit before making a decision.

Well, we looked, but I think maybe not.
More than 90% of the ground is flat, open, and covered in prairie grass, with huge depressions that are currently under water.
The drive leading in is a shared right-of-way, and it takes getting muddy just to access the river.
To top it all off, the realtor says the annual taxes on this 50.5 acres is $1,836! That's outrageous!

I know the owner of the abutting property, which would be kind of nice to have a friend next door, and they are the other property that uses the shared access road.
The owner of the adjacent property says the realtor is misinformed, and there's no way the taxes are that high.

It does have river access, and plenty of deer, turkey, raccoon, canine (coyote or dog), and many other tracks that are fresh, like this morning fresh.
There is an opportunity to camp, so it would be nice to have access.
It is only 11.5 miles from my front door.

    We'll see...
If the realtor is wrong, and the taxes are much less...
