The launching platform for Anti Gun Congressman John Yarmuth (His son has it now.....) Back in the 80's it was less political and mostly advertised hookers in the back, but to a music fan like me it was something to pick up so you knew who was playing at Tewligans that week....

Sounds like the Louisville equivalent of Nuvo up here.

I just got home from the convention, Indianapolis to the backup for exit 131 in Louisville took 2 hours 15 minutes. Traffic wasn't too bad on the drive south, just a little slow in the construction zones. BUT, from the end of the backup at exit 131 to the time I walked into the exhibit hall was 3 hours. I was pissed, 1 guy was directing traffic everybody else including the police were standing around shooting the bull. I don't think the Kentucky Expo Center gives a damn about the NRA convention. The show was OK but I did get some info on a place to hunt hogs in Alabama.
You'll never hear the mayor or other liberal official, i.e. Cong. Yarmuth welcome the NRA, like is done at places such as the national matches. I wouldn't be surprised if unofficially they encouraged foul ups at the venue. That being said, traffic control has never been good at the KY Fair & Expo. Center. I've been jacked around a few times during the state fair. I'll be going today, so will report back later.

AFTER ACTION REPORT: A buddy of mine, familiar with the area, drove. We got to the line on I-65 around 9 a.m. He went past the line and took the airport exit. Instead of turning to the terminal he took a right on a service road. He drove past the first fairgrounds exit and took the next right and we were at the entrance booth with no one in front of us, so we paid our parking fee and got in the racetrack pattern with the other turtles. It did take us about 15-20 minutes to find a place to park, but that went pretty well. There was a greeter (Fairgrounds employee) at the door we entered and she was smiling and welcoming everybody as they passed by. I bought a cup of coffee before going into the hall and the ladies there where friendly, chatty and polite. The exhibit hall was packed, but everyone was patient and courteous. I've been to several of these over the years and I've never seen so many attendees. There were a couple of booths were the reps appeared to be snobs. One was the Anshutz booth and the other was the Kreighoff booth. If the company reps are too good to talk to us average gun owners, they should just stay home IMHO. Every other rep I interacted with was knowledgeable, polite and ready to talk. Yep, there were a lot of old white men, but there were quite a few younger folks and families. More women than I have ever seen before (a good thing). More people of different races (another good thing). I think people are finally getting on board with the NRA and our message. P.S. At about 3 p.m. people were sitting and lying on the floor with their backs against the wall everywhere I looked. It looked like the after battle scene in an old Civil War movie. All they needed was white bandages with blood spots.:):

Sunday is 10AM to 5PM. Maybe traffic won't be as bad. Maybe I'll go back.
I spent most of Thursday & Friday in the South hall and didn't see much of the rest of the exhibit. HK promised me a hat & I forgot to go back and get it. It's a long drive for a hat. :)

Got to the entrance at 8:00 AM and was standing at the exhibition hall doors waiting for them to open by 8:45. Yes, traffic direction would have helped, but overall it was not that bad. Got to talk to The Gunney for about 6 minutes, even gave him the knife hand. He laughed. Great guy and a good day at the show. Looking forward to the annual meeting coming back to Indy.

Great time today. First ones in (did not have my Exhibitor creds yet) at 9AM.

Walked the expo hall with a noted member of the gun nut media and new Editor at Shooting Illustrated.

She went to lunch and I roamed like a dog off the leash. Saying hello to old friends and drooling over guns.

Had booth duty at ISRPA at 2PM until close. Met several INGOers (no, I did not put them in headlocks until they agreed to join).

State association meeting tomorrow, but tonight it is Rocky's Sub Pub! I think they might have a cold beer there.:D

The wife won a contest at the Geissele booth. Got to pick her prize, one thing they had in stock. She offered to let me have it, but i didn't have the heart to steal such an awesome prize. So we spent sometime trying triggers until she decided on the SSA. Which is kinda funny as thats the trigger i use already. So now her trigger matches mine.

Rockys usually has a few 3 Floyds selections, among quite a few other quality beers. I'm going there for lunch tomorrow, so don't drink all the good stuff.

Days one and two were spent as a volunteer at the South A Registration booth. Enjoyed the time with other volunteers and helping people find their way around the Annual Meeting events.

Day three, I took my Father In-law to the exhibition hall and watched his eyes get bigger and bigger... His first & my second Meeting. We got back to their house and as we discussed the little time we spent there, he asked me when it was returning to Indy. I told him in '19 and he immediately said, "In 2019, we're going." there was no discussion... LoL

I'm going back for day 4 (Sunday) to see if there are any good deals on mags @ Magpul & maybe swing by the 5.11 booth with my TDK, looking for a sporran.
