This is Buddy. Rescued the day before his scheduled death (day of this photo).
When animal control picked him up, his expired tags were from an Arizona Vet that didn't exist anymore.
We had him for a year before we heard him bark. We assumed someone had done the vocal cord thing...but the vet said nothing was wrong & he just didn't have anything to say.

    We had him 13 years.
When he died, it broke my heart.
I still miss that dog every day.
    Every. Single. Day.

Can't believe this is the only pic of Katie I have. Need to take some more. She looks fat here but she's sitting on her legs so it makes her look that way.

    Here's our pups.

On the left is Sara, she's a Border Collie mix (90% BC, 10% Lab) from a rescue shelter in Louisville that is now 3 years old.

On the right is our 14 year old smooth BC from the Morgan County Humane Society. Age is catching up to her, her snout is now all gray/white to the point some people think she has Huskie in her. When she was younger she loved to herd our Maltese.

I just love it when a BC strikes a herding pose.

We have no children, but they are our family.

I still get this look when food is involved, only her head is usually resting on my lap.

She still plays with this ball some 7 years later. Her favorite toy is a frisbe though.

Cute as a bug at 6 weeks old.

All grown up now...She is my constant companion, she goes everywhere I go, including going to work with me every day.

Beautiful pups all around. I am debating at the moment on taking a free redbone coonhound pup. My only concern would be is my department is getting ready to open up another K9 spot and I would really like to be in the running for that.b

My girl. 3 year old German Shepherd named Emma. Weighs in at 68lbs. as of last week. This is heard all the time, but she is the smartest, loyalist, most protective, yet sweetest dog I've ever owned. I don't have kids but she sure feels like one.

Rocky. The old man at 13. I chose this picture because it shows how he is now, old and sassy. (He just got finished eating in this picture, which is why he looks all grouchy.) He gets basically everything he wants. His days of chasing squirrels are over. He retired to the warm garage. When he finally does pass it will be a national tragedy. I love this dog.

Both Basset mixes. We think Harriet is with Australian Shepherd and Wash is coon hound.
They seem to be getting alone okay so far.
