Does anyone know about case trimmers for loading bulk ammo? I have several thousand 223, 308, 30-06, and 6XC to load and I would like to trim all of them to the proper trim to length. I have a L.E. Wilson but that gets to be a lot like work (this is suppose to be fun). I also have many hand gun cartridges to load as well.
So any info would be very helpful.

PS. I am just getting back to reloading after a 20 year hiatus.

Thanks for posting this link. I've been trying to buy a Possum Hollow Case Trimmer for a while now, but I think they went out of business... and this design looks very similar.

I bought a Possum Hollow Case Trimmer a few years ago to trim quantities of 223 cases a few years ago. It cut great for a hundred cases before it dulled. It still works, but takes more time and pressure.

I hope WFT uses better steel.

there some discussion in another thread but I'm really happy with my Gracey

Match Prep, Home of the Gracey Power Carrtidge Case Trimmer

I can do brass as fast as I can sharpen a pencil in an electric pencil sharpener it looks like the other trimmer is similar to the gracey except the gracey is self contained you don't need to burn up your drill, and it captures the shavings so you can clean the shavings out when your done instead of slinging them all over creation.

If you go to the other thread on case trimmers, you'll see what I've posted also on the Worlds Finest trimmer from Little Crow Gunworks.

I've done a few thousand of 223 and noticed the cutter is getting a little dull. I'm having to lightly deburr the outside. One twist and its deburred.

x10 I might have to look at that Graceys tho. I can mount it to my bench and not use my power drill. Be a major thinking though, I'm pretty happy with my WFT, just don't like the caliber specific part of it.

Thanks for the info and all of your comments. I have been checking out the suggested trimmers and like the WFT and the Girard.
I didn't see the other thread but i have now and it also has a lot of good advice.

I have 3 girards and I love them. Makes quick work of trimming and can move on to other prep work

Thanks everyone that gave me info. I just ordered a WFT (more than one) and they are on the way. I wanted the Girard but figure I can buy lots of powder and bullets with what I have left. :rockwoot:

    +1 on that.

I'm curious what TonyT thinks of the WFT's from Dale. I'm wanting to, which will be next spring, swing by Spicer Mn, on my way up to the in-laws and check out any rifles he has built. Might have to have 1 shipped down here. Cant buy long guns up there and walk out with it like you can down around here.
At least thats what Reeds Sporting Goods in Walker Mn, told me when I was thinking of buying a Rem 700.

I have only used mine for about 80 rounds. I had a hand crank wilson trimmer that after about 25 rounds would start to hurt my hands. Took about 30 seconds a cartridge to chamfer and all. I actually wish I could use my wft again but I am out of brass. I am not a big time reloader. Just what I pickup off the range or shoot myself. I dont have a big supply of brass. What I do have is already reloaded.

If your WTF gets a little lonely for some brass, you can always send it to me. I got plenty of playmates for it. :D

I received the new trimmers and have already put 4,000 cases through them. They works great, but there is one caveat and that is you still need to chamfer and de-burr them. The burrs are very small compared to the other trimmer (L.E. Wilson) but if you are loading VLD bullets. They that tumbling them after trimming them will remove the small burs but I would rather not take the chance.
    Thanks!

I bought a Hornady Case Prep Center a week ago. It... is... the... bomb. Not sure how I lived without it before.

Out of pure nosiness and ohh yeah curiosity....once you set the length to trim is it set or do you have to fiddle with it? How quiet is the motor?
Been thinking of buying another trimmer, that way I can get my boy in there with me to trim. 2 drills going in my shop is nerve racking, if I was to go with buying another WFT.
