When I bought a gun for my significant other, my total involvement was counting out the cash. She drove us to the gun store, she told them what she was looking for, she looked at what was offered, she decided on what she wanted, she decided on the ammo she needed (with help from the clerk), she selected a holster. I dug into my pocket.

I am near positive that my wife will have her onw gun soon. She is built about the same that I am and has no problems holding a 5 inch XD in 45. She pointed out a few that she liked but they were .380's. I told her she could get anything she wanted as long as it was at least a 9mm. She knows my reasoning for it and is ok with it... She just liked the gun's for their looks and did not hold them or anything and had no idea what round's they took.

She wants to shoot my .45 and take a gun saftey class and then decide what round gun she want's. Id like to see her get an XD M or something but told her thatshe can shoot a few and see what she likes and then we can go to Bradis or something and she can hold a bunch of different ones and see what one she likes.

I pointed out a few .357 snub nose's and she said she wanted a gun with a mag haha.

If she was a 5' 2 tooth pick and carries smaller purses then that would be something to consider.

    GF wants an AR

Well for the past 7 months or so, my GF has been shooting my AR rifle that I had built. This week she tells me that she would like to have her own rifle, kind of shocked me, but I said what the hell. So we are heading off to 21 Century to pick out a lower receiver for her. :)

I appreciate the input. I am still getting my wife used to handguns. While she is very conservative she was raised in Canada and she has been indoctrinated to think of handguns as Taboo.

Every time we go out she is concerned that the police are going to arrest me even though I have a LTCH.

I got caught by my wife after a handgun purchase that was for her! It was to be a surprise and she noticed the package from midway:popcorn: After checking the contents of the package she wanted to know why I was reloading for 357 now:( I quickly explained to her that she is home alone with the baby and there are several dirtbags in our little town. She asked about learning how to shoot and I helped her out by starting out small and working up. She has shot my walther p22 and my 9mm makarov, waiting for the next warm weekend so she can shoot my S&W9mm and then some 38s out of the 357 before going all out and firing her cannon:rockwoot:She knows there our three pistols in the bedroom safe and to just grab one and close the door to the kids room and stand at the top of the stairs if someone breaks in:ar15:

I bought my wife a Springfield XD9 subcompact for her birthday. She even insisted on an OD green frame....and a matching Benchmade..... It's funny how they accessorize.

At least she has her LCH and practices.

Mine selected the Sig 250 in 9mm. We spent all day at the gunshow in Louisville and she must have played with 50 guns to find the right fit and *look*. She likes it a lot, pretty good shooter too.

My girlfriend had a ruger .22 short handed down to her for carry. It's tiny... she can put it in her pocket without being noticed (not to be confused with my pockets that could hold a 1911 lol). She is looking into getting a glock now :) just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I had bought my Makarov for CC and the first time my wife held it, the next words out of her mouth were, "Wow, what a nice pistol. It fits my hand just right. So what are you going to carry?"

I don't believe that many of the "I bought a gun for my wife" statements involve giving a woman a gun sight-unseen.

For my part, I did by a firearm for my wife and she was 100% involved in deciding which gun was right for her. The gun she choose was the Walther P22 and she even had an entire store from which to choose. (actually 3 stores) The statement of "I bought a gun for my wife" stems from the fact that it was a gift from me to her.

There are others who might say "I bought a gun for my wife" as it underscores who may be the bread-winner in the home, and may have nothing at all to do with blindly delivering a firearm to their spouse.

But then again, you could have someone like my chauvinistic friend who has no problem buying his wife a car, gun or anything else for that matter without her input... I do know that there are guys like that out there, but so many of us are not that way. And, should not be clumped into that category by how we phase a given sentence.

    That's off my chest now.

thank you for sticking up for the guys that are clumped into a category they don't belong in

I have a walther p22 which I picked out in 2006 and had only shot a few times before my brother got ahold of it. Now it's in my dads possession. At that time I had yet to see a pink gun! Pretty much the only reason I settled on the p22 (besides tuat James Bond preferred walthers) was that since I'm left-handed it's ambidextrous safety was one of the only ones I could safely and efficiently operate!
After meeting Dave Schwarze 2 years ago I thought I'd ask him to fashion me a truly customized preferably pink left-handed gun. However, I put it off too long and now it's too late! =( I am interested in learning more about fireamrs -especially ones geared towards left-handed ladies who heart pink!

I'm not left handed, so I really haven't paid any attention to firearms that would be great for you, especially in pink. BUT there is a pink walther p22 that you could get if you are still wanting the p22 which is a fun gun to shoot btw.

Here's a link to the pink camo if you are interested

:dunno: I give. I have no idea what you are talking about.
I heard that some folks from the "boot" country can be "HOT"; I also heard that Capricorn-born folks can be very passionate. So what I did was hook up with a gorgeous gal from "Roma", who is a Capricorn, and one day something turned up her thermostat (NOT the romantic one!) and she chased me out of the apartment and down the block. She stopped at about the time I heard her scream, "O snap, this thing isn't even loaded! " EBG
