This is in regards to .22 ammo posts!

I am sooo sick of everyone saying how "they stocked up when it was cheap" and "they were smart enough to see this coming and bought all they could for $.02 a round or less".
like me not everyone was into shooting 5-10-15 years ago when it was <$10 a bulk pack.
Im sorry I wasn't as smart as you and saved my paper route money to hoard .22. I was 12 when .22 was less than $10 for bulk pack!
Im sorry I have to keep 20000 rounds on hand "just in case" I would like to go shooting with friends within the next 5 years.
I'm really sorry I hoped I could just walk into gander,Walmart, dicks ect... And just grab some ammo for a quick range trip and didnt have to stockpile it.

It is really sad to see people who all enjoy shooting for fun, turn on eachother.

I have only been in this hobby for 4.5 years. In that time I have seen ammo prices and gun prices skyrocket. So much so I was not able to shoot a 1/10 of what I would like to have. But god forbid I/someone mentions how prices are high or some ammo is hard to find. Then I see a flood of comments like I mentioned above.

So I say this. If you bought 40000 rounds 20 years ago because you were smart, GOOD FOR YOU! But you don't have to keep going around talking about it, and how dumb we were for not stocking up.

Seems to me, the only time I see someone talking/bragging about having 20-40000 rounds (or more) hoarded in their stash is when someone whines about not having any/not being able to find it on the store shelves. I don't have 40000 rounds, or even 20000 (wish I did though!) But I DO get tired of the whiny/*****y posts like the OP.

I had some and bought more every time I saw it at WalMart. I never got worried or had to rant. Life is good.

What exactly is your rant? Do you have anything that has appreciated? Would you sell it for what you originally paid years ago? Do you have something you're proud, happy or thankful you have? Do you not like to talk about it?

    relax a bit

I don't have alot and haven't seen any at prices that I wanted to pay in quite some time. Oh well, get over it. Either pay the current market value or quit whining about it. It's out there if you are willing to pay. Have you ever bragged about something that you had/got that someone else didn't? Perhaps you won some money on a scratch off ticket or maybe a casino. Or possibly you bought the last Furby. The point is, everyone at some point or another has obtained something that someone else hasn't. It's life, deal with it.

Do you have just enough gas in your car for your planned trips today?

Do you have just enough food in your house for the next couple meals?

Do you have just enough money to pay this week's bills?

I think most folks are not necessarily bragging on their ammo stash as they are surprised and dismayed at the mindset of not having a reliable supply on hand.

Funny stuff, like u haven't bragged about something u had and someone didn't? *****ing a little about not being able find 22 ammo is one thing but being butthurt because they say "I have 40000rds stocked up" all the while you keep moaning about 22 prices. As I said funny stuff.

Yeah that maybe the case. But to start a rant thread about the ranting of people that stocked up ( mind u I don't have 20000rds stocked up) is hilarious. And I didn't start buying 22 till just a couple of years ago and will not spend 7 to 10 cents a round for 22 by my choice. If the op would keep his eyes open 22 is available at ok prices hell I just got a brick from gander for 23.99 last week. Not the best price but better then 40 and 50 a brick.

I see 22lr at $30 or less for 500rnds all the time . And I work for a living . lol Not some retired old fart out mall walking . BTW not mad at you old guys , just jealous ......

The day will come when threads about 22 ammo will go back to being a discussion of which one works best in your rifle...and that day can't get here soon enough!

Lets get something straight. I am not *****ing nor have I ever said one word about finding or prices of ammo on here.
I stated that I'm sick of hearing everybody talk about how we should have a healthy supply on hand.
So you guys are saying you have 5 months worth of gas, food, ect.. on hand just in case?? That how I feel when they say I should have stocked up! I am just saying it would be nice to just go buy it when you need it that is all. Like I could when I first started shooting.

but thank you all for proving my point.

Wasn't fast enough for what I wanted to say but oh well. Sooner or later 22 will become as expensive as oil.

This tread was not about prices or availability of ammo.
It was about arse holes jumping down people's throats every time the make mention of the price or availability of .22.
like I just said this tread proves my point to a T!
I do now have a decent stash of ammo. I didn't, and know how hard it can be to find.
It does get old hearing people complain about it, but preaching about how you should have known the future gets old too.

I keep enough powder, bullets and primers for at least 100,000 rounds of each caliber that I reload for. Currently that's 9mm, 38 Short Colt, 38 Special, 357 Magnum, 44 Special, 44 Magnum and 45 ACP. I continually buy to keep the 100,000 as a minimum floor.

As for 22 LR, I don't shoot it that often, but I do have around 15,000 rounds of CCI Mini Mags and for rifle, I don't reload 5.56 as I don't shoot it that often. So I use factory ammo for that. Currently around 4,500 rounds of factory M855.

but thank you all for proving my point.

Actually, I do have several months supply of most consumables on hand.

Why? Because I don't want to ever be caught without when I can reasonably prepare for it.

The only time most of us who have stocked up say something is when people start whining about how they can't walk into Walmart and buy some.

Now, if you DID start shooting within the last year and a half then I have some sympathy. But if you're one of those who never bothered to buy a little extra when it was plentiful then you can go pound sand as far as I am concerned. And if you are one of those people who ignored those of us who were urging people to stash away some extra when it was plentiful because we had seen repeated shortages over the years, then you really can take a hike.

I've no sympathy for people who refuse to prepare for easily forseeable shortages. OTOH, as several folks here on InGO can attest, people who don't whine and who were caught short but who had tried to prepare are people I've sold, at reasonable prices, some of my stock of .22 and reloading supplies over the last year or so, out of my hugemongous stash (and yes, it is hugemongous).

(yes, I know I am feeding the troll here, but people need to be reminded the value of prepping so one doesn't become a whining wanker posting their laments on groups like this)
